Genealogy Tip of the Day!
Who Doesnt Use Page Numbers?

Plenty of original records are in bound volumes without page numbers. Frustrating as it is‚ researchers whose work extends before 1900 will encounter volumes with pages that have no numbering to them at all. Adoption Research

The process of identifying a birth parent or learning what became of a child placed for adoption is a difficult and challenging process primarily due to privacy laws and the path is fraught with emotional highs and lows. Much of the research is similar to the work we do as professional genealogists as well as the work of private detectives. Airrington Genealogys researchers are often asked to assist in such a search and our hearts go out to individuals embarking upon finding their living birth parents parents in adoption research.

Adoption research is entangled with a web of legal hurdles and problems with records access.  These problems can sometimes be impossible for professional genealogists to conquer.  Please dont let a professional genealogists toy with your emotions with promises of being able to find your biological family.   You need to know up front that occasionally only lawyers will be able to break through the legal hurdles that May lie ahead.  However this is not always the case.

Airrington Genealogy will give you a free consultation and take a look at your case and give you a honest opinion if we think we can help you.  If we can we will proceed.  If we feel that your case needs to be looked at by a lawyer first we will do our best to advise you and recommend a lawyer to identify the people involved in the adoption (such as a name and approximate birth date and place) after that we can then assist you in locating them and we can then help you trace your birth ancestry and reunite you with your relatives.

This can be an emotional and exciting time.  We will provide you with counseling and advice on how to proceed….this is only advice and how you proceed is up to you.  We only take you to the door.

What sets us apart

One thing that makes us unique is we understand the process is not always easy and information doe snot always come quick.  Adoption research can take many weeks and sometimes months to come to a satisfactory conclusion.   We also understand that there May be many reasons…emotional reasons for the adoption.  We always work in the shadows gathering information.  We never release information names address phone numbers emails of either party until our investigation is complete and then only with the permission of BOTH parties.
